I talked to the social worker at the dialysis clinic yesterday about being eligible for a kidney transplant and was finally given a goal weight to be eligible.

I only have 55 pounds to lose - much less than I originally thought. I can do this, hopefully in six months or so.

Wish me luck!
Oh, you can do that! It'll be tough, but I know you're motivated and have a lot of loving family to help support you! Best of luck!

I just have to say that I love your icon! My first car was a white VW Beetle. My brother named it Thumper because I wasn't very good at driving a stick shift and the car "hopped" down the road the first few times I drove it.
Thanks, sweetie!

How have you been? I've been so out of touch the past few months - we bought a house, went to Alaska for vacation then I got sick and was in the hospital for weeks.
Oh!! How did you like the Alaska vacation, babe? My hubs was born there (though he considers himself a Texan) and he keeps telling me we'll do that one day!
I wish you the best of luck. I know losing weight is hard, I recently had to drop thirty pounds by doctor's order, so I know of what I speak. Best advice I can give is don't get discouraged. I had days where following my diet plan was easy and days where it was just impossible. Hot pastrami sandwiches and a ice cold coke were calling my name. But with the support of friends and family I got through and I know you will too! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

The funny thing is - now that I'm on a "diet", I'm craving things I never really wanted before. Sigh. Deprivation is a hard thing.
Good luck!
Good luck. :D *hugs*
I'm sending you special positive thoughts. If it helps you stick to your healthy eating plan you could join qaf_health_club. It's a great group of supportive people.

The best of luck!
Yeah, losing weight is never easy, at least for me. But I will be thinking of you in your attempt. One thing I do tell my patients in the clinic is if you are really, really craving something to go ahead and get it and enjoy it. If you want ice cream, get a scoopful; if you have to have a piece of chocolate cake, a small piece and enjoy it. Or you'll just never get rid of the craving and those results can be disastrous. But once you have had it-you can't do it again any time soon. Exercise is key too-THAT is my problem-I just can't seem to get started. Maybe we should keep in touch. We can check in week by week and see how the loss is coming.
It sounds as though you are on the right path.

I wish you amazing luck and fortitude!!!!!
You can do it.. m :)
i wish you luck...you can do it! take one day at a time and keep positive thoughts.

obviously a lot of wonderful women here know you can do this and you can.
I have all the faith in the world that
you can do this. I know it won't be easy
but you have a lot of friends here rooting
for you.

Best of luck!
Hope this is going well for you. It really took me some soul searching/ mind changing to lose 11#s so far, another 11 to go. Having 2 kids kicked my butt and abs ;-) So 2 1/2 years later I'm finally starting to get there.

Don't get frustrated. If you're doing everything you can, understand that sometimes you'll plateau and not lose for a while.

If you want to talk excersice or alter you mindset let me know.

I've so enjoyed your storys I'd enjoy helping in any way.
